The spectacular Cahors Urban Trial celebrated its fourteenth edition with a resounding success thanks to the attendance of thousands of spectators and the impressive atmosphere that was experienced in the French town.
The level of the areas was really high. The pilots had to pass through different arrows on the course that, depending on the color, added one score or another.
From a sporting point of view, we witnessed a new tug-of-war between Albert Cabestany and Toni Bou, the strongest riders in indoor terrain. The Sherco rider took the lead of the race after the first lap, taking advantage of a mistake by Bou in the seventh section, although he made amends after a brilliant second lap that would give him the final victory. Adam Raga was also in the fight for victory, although he had a hard time getting close to his rivals’ records and finally had to settle for the third step on the podium.
One of the most remarkable facts was the presence of the retiree Marc Freixa, who put on a bib number again after two years and he managed to beat riders who usually participate in the world championship, such as Fajardo, Dabill or Fujinami. It was precisely the Japanese rider who was one of the most applauded by the public for the spectacular nature of his driving.
