In the sixth round of the 2012 Spanish Championship, held in Vilanova del Camí (Barcelona), only the lower categories were called: Junior, Tr3, TR3 +35, Female (A and B), Youth and Cadet. The TR1 and TR2 will face each other directly on November 27 in Cal Rosal, the scene of the last race of the 2012 calendar.
From a sporting point of view, we have attended the sixth consecutive win of the season for Jaime Busto. The Bilbao pilot, recently proclaimed European Youth Champion, has once again set a truly high pace than its most direct rivals, such as Arnau Farre or Ignacio Martín, they were only able to continue on the first lap, taking advantage of the only fiasco committed by Jaime – zone 7 – throughout the day. Jaime reached the halfway point of the race with one point over a sensational Arnau Farre and three over Ignacio Martín. Behind them, but with practically no chance of podium places, were Gelabert, Nachette, Alex del Olmo and Oliver.
In thesecond pass through the twelve zones, Busto made no mistakes and signed an extraordinary record of only four points that sentenced the race in his favor. Less successful were his two main rivals, who despite fattening their partial points compared to the first lap managed to maintain the positions. Farre, therefore, second, followed by Martín. Good lap by Gelabert, setting the second best time of this second half of the race after Busto.
In Cadet, Marc Riba added his fourth victory of the season and reinforces his lead over the Asturian Adrián Villabrille, who in Vilanova signed a third place. Between the two, Cesar Dus, which cuts two points in the general standings from Villabrille himself and keeps open a beautiful fight for the national title.
Marc’s superiority was constant throughout the day, but especially on the first lap, where his 15-point run, with 8 over his closest pursuer, Cesar, gave him a good cushion for the second lap. In this second pass through the sections, Marc had more problems, repeating the fiasco of the first lap and adding an additional one. This allowed Adrián to set the best time of this second lap, followed by Marc himself. Also noteworthy is the excellent role and improvement of Julian Montalvo from Extremadura, finishing just one point off the podium.
In Women’s A the surprise has been in charge of Mireia Conde , imposing with authority her main rival, Sandra Gómez, who did not have her best day today. Mireia dominated the race from start to finish. Her first part was only two points better than Sandra’s, but in the second part of the race she managed to score 15 points, confirming her well-deserved victory and the great form that our international rider enjoys. Third place went to Elisabet Solera.
In category B, victory for María Giró after Berta Abellán , leader after the first lap, overcame thanks to a spectacular performance in the second pass through the twelve sections in which she has halved her previous record. The third position, further away, went to Verónica Miguens.
In Juvenil 80 tight victory for Martin Riobo , as a result of his good first lap, followed by Sergio Ribau, in charge of signing the best partial time in his category and starring in a fantastic comeback that culminated at the gates of victory. A nice fight, therefore, between Matín and Sergio. On the podium, further back, they were accompanied by Eric Miquel.
In the Youth 125 category we witnessed a resounding victory for Oriol Pi after scoring a total of 9 points, ten less than his main rival, Gabriel Marcelli. With one more point, Gabriel Girón completed the places of honour.
In the TR3 category there was an attendance of only four drivers, but all of them in the top category. Francesc Recio, king of the category, once again gave a sublime driving recital , scoring a total of 6 points, to 42 of the highest scores. Marc Horrach and 52 Sergio Puyo. In the +35 years variant, the triumph went to the Asturian Rubén García with 34 points, followed by Bernard Riviere, with 42 points and Antoni Ramonet with 62 points.
The next appointment will be in Valdemanco on October 23. Again, it will only be scored for the categories that we have mentioned in this report. It will be in Cal Rosal, to be held in November, when the TR1 and TR2 will enter the classification.
