The current world runner-up has signed for Scorpa this season, riding a 2022 Scorpa Factory 300, and explained how happy she is “I am very excited, I have been very surprised by the bike, the team is great and the environment too, I am very motivated”. The rider also wanted to refer to the good treatment she has received from her previous brand, Vertigo , where she spent the last 4 seasons and where she has grown as a driver.
FOLLOWING IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF LAIA SANZ
Berta has not hesitated to talk about the World Championship and her dream of becoming the future champion. Last season Abellán obtained the second position in the world championship although she was very close with the other contenders for the podium, for this reason she comments that “this year is perhaps the one that I have seen the highest and strongest, I have been one point behind Laia Sanz, and in some tests I have beaten Emma Bristow”. She also made reference to the fact that Laia is her role model and that “The fact that Laia has participated has made me more nervous and it is good that she participates, as it gives “cachet” to the world championship apart from the fact that I have learned a lot with her” said the rider.
DEBUT OF THE WOMEN’S TRIAL IN AN X-TRIAL
We have also talked about the women’s X-Trial that was held at the Palau Sant Jordi where for the first time in history the women’s category participated. Berta remembers that moment as one of the most shocking of her life and has commented that “I went through a lot of nerves, but at the same time I enjoyed it and then when I saw it on television I cried because I saw the audience applauding me” for her it was a dream come true.

How does Berta Abellán prepare for the races?
As for mental preparation, Berta has a philosophy of life that is to be satisfied with the path she follows and she is sure that sooner or later she will achieve her great goal, to be world champion. He also explained that he currently has no pressure, since, “I haven’t won yet the day I win surely I will, for the moment what I have to do is stay on top and fight for the victory”.
This season the Catalan has set her sights on doing the French championship where she intends to learn, while in the National championship she wants to be in the top 5.
He will also compete in the world championship that starts in April, Abellán explained that “now I am preparing for the season, while the races are not approaching we do more physical training than on a motorcycle and as we get closer things change and what we train the most is the motorcycle. On a mental level I’m fine for now, as I’m very motivated.”
