Pau Martínez has been the winner of the 51st edition of the 3 Days of Trial of Santigosa (3DTS), one of the most special and important long-duration races of those held both nationally and internationally.
Under an impeccable organization of the Moto Club Abadesses, the weather has accompanied all the participants this time, with a pleasant temperature and the absence of rain, which traditionally tends to occur at this time of year and which complicates the terrain so much. The daily route consisted of more than forty kilometres of interzone, along which there were about thirty zones that have been modified over the course of each of the days.
From a sporting point of view, Miquel Gelabert, former TrialGP rider until last season and current hard enduro rider, surprised with his presence, getting back on a trial bike after several months of absence. He did it at the controls of a Beta EVO Factory 2022, with which he was in perfect synchrony, solidly leading the race until the third and final day, where everything went wrong for the local rider, adding two fiascos and two extra feet, which not only made him lose the lead, but also the chances of getting on the podium.
PAU MARTÍNEZ, THE MOST CONSISTENT, WINS IN THE TIEBREAKER WITH SUÁREZ
The one who got the most out of Miquel Gelabert’s mistakes was Pau Martinez, who at the controls of his Vertigo Nitro 2023 He maintained consistency throughout the race, scoring only one point on the final day and a total of five points in the overall calculation of the race. At times, the leader of the race was Manuel Suárez, who at the end of the second day was ahead of Pau, but dropped two points on the last day, adding the same five points and giving up the victory in the final jump-off.
The third step on the podium went to Arnau Farré, who had a race from less to more, completing the last day with only one point and a total of seven in the cumulative standings. Fourth, as we said, Miquel Gelabert, ahead of David Fabián, winner in Junior.
TOP TEN AND OTHER CATEGORIES
Sixth place for Marc Freixa, followed by Dani Gibert, Benoit Dagnicourt and Sam Obradó. Completing the “top ten” is Oriol Noguera, who made his debut in this competition with the electric Mecatecno Dragonfly.
Among the participants was also Amós Bilbao, winner in Veterans B. In Veterans A the triumph has been for Norbe Fernández, in women for Berta Abellán and in cadets for Aniol Llamas.
